Trident is a framework for building and deploying automated market makers (AMMs). There’s quite a bit to be said about what it is and how it works. The Medium articles below goes over the general specifics of what Trident is in good detail. For a simple explanation, consider Trident as a suite for financial tools that can be openly expanded upon. The three prongs that form it are the BentoBox, an expansion on liquidity pools, and the Tines routing system (for which there is a more detailed explanation in the links below).

Introducing, The Sushi Next Generation AMM: Trident

🔱 Launching Trident - Phase 1

You can access Trident through Polygon as of now, starting first with just classic pools and then rolling out more features as infrastructure is established. Note that as new features open up and are expanded upon it will take time for liquidity to be migrated by users to the new system. Because of this you will probably see many token swaps be routed through legacy pools by default.
